Allinger receives March Diamond Award at BCH

Boundary Community Hospital has selected Ruth Allinger, an Extended Care Floor employee, as the recipient of its March 2024 Diamond Award.
Established to celebrate the exceptional compassion BCH staff demonstrates towards patients and families, the Diamond Award recognizes individuals who embody the spirit of kindness and excellent care. Nominations for the award can be submitted by anyone within the BCH community, including patients, families, and staff members.
"Ruth is an exceptional employee who has consistently gone above and beyond for our residents since joining BCH in 2017," Danielle Larsson, community relations and marketing director, said. "Her dedication to their well-being shines through in everything she does, from prioritizing their needs to effectively communicating with nursing staff and maintaining a positive, caring attitude towards everyone."
Larsson said Allinger’s commitment extends far beyond her core responsibilities. Her compassion can be seen in everything from helping residents alter clothing to make it more comfortable to providing additional gifts during Christmas to ensure everyone feels included. Allinger also shares her passion for etymology, sparking residents' curiosity about language; and reads the Bible to residents who are seeking comfort in scripture.
Her knowledge, versatility, and dedication make her a valuable asset to the ECF team, Larsson said.
