Athlete of the Week: Gavin Rider, baseball

Gavin Rider, a sophomore, is named Athlete of the Week for Badger baseball.

Rider plays outfield and pitcher and when he's not player for Badger varsity baseball, he fills in when needed with the JV team. 

In the past week, Gavin has played in a total of 3 games (2 Varsity, 1 JV) playing both right field and pitching for the Badgers.  

"He is always willing to do whatever is needed for the team and works very hard to be the best," said Tom Turpin, Bonners Ferry head baseball coach. "Gavin is a great, hardworking young man." 

He said two best attributes that Gavin has is: 1) He always goes and hits an extra bucket of balls before he leaves. 2) He always shakes our hand and thanks the coaches at the end of each practice.
