RATHDRUM — Senior Garrett Farrell struck out six and allowed three hits and no walks over four innings as the host Hawks blanked the Badgers in non league play at Gorton Field on April 15.

Jace Taylor struck out two and walked none in a hitless fifth for 4A Lakeland (6-6).

“Garrett pitched great today, was really efficient on the mound,” Lakeland coach Al Bevacqua said. “Jace Taylor also threw well. I’ve been challenging the pitchers to work ahead; the most important pitch is strike one. And he (Farrell) really did a great job of that today.”

Roan Reilly drove in three runs and Taylor was 2 for 3 and scored twice for Lakeland, which plays host to Post Falls in an Inland Empire League doubleheader today at 3.
