Boundary County School District No. 101 is thankful for our students, parents, staff, and community.

We believe it is important to celebrate our successes and continuously improve in identified areas. We appreciate the school board for supporting our work and providing resources, so we can focus on our mission to educate and empower our students to become life-long learners and contributing members of society.

Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and focused students, we continue to see growth in academic performance. We have also expanded our Career Technical Education programs. We now have students graduating with CTE diplomas who are ready to enter the workforce. Our district earned recognition for the fourth-highest growth of students at grade level in reading for traditional districts and Valley View Elementary earned recognition for being the second-highest traditional school in the state for reading growth. US News and World Reports identified Boundary County Middle School as a U.S. News Best Middle School in Idaho. It is the hard work and dedication of everyone working together that makes it possible for our students to perform.

We are in the process of selecting our Teacher of the Year, Classified Employee of the Year, and Friend of Education. We are excited to share the names of our last recipients: Connie Perez, Teacher of the Year; Pam Copeland, Classified Employee of the Year; and Brandon Johnson, Friend of Education. Dedicated individuals like these make it possible for our students to be successful.

We are truly blessed to be able to make improvements to our facilities. Naples Elementary started the year in a completely remodeled school. The bleachers at the football field used by Bonners Ferry High School and Boundary County Middle School have been replaced. The district office has moved to the north end of Valley View. Thanks to the guidance of our Facilities Committee and the support of the school board, we continue to be ahead of our 10-year plan. Our next goal is to replace Valley View.

We continue to shine in our athletic programs, too. At the end of last year, our girls team won the Idaho State Girls Golf Championship and our boys basketball team made school history by winning their first-ever Idaho State Boys Basketball Championship. Additionally, Bonners Ferry High School had 24 athletes nominated for the North Idaho Hall of Fame in the 3A-1A division with several winners: Braylyn Bayer, girls golf; Asha Abubakari, girls track; Asher Williams, boys basketball; Bonners Ferry High School boys basketball, Boys Team of the Year; and Trey Bateman, Male Athlete of the Year.

Thank you to our students, parents, staff, and community for supporting the efforts of Boundary County School District. Our success and continuous improvement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our community.
