Know your voting rights for Idaho primary election
9B Strong, a local organization promoting civic involvement, has begun a project to educate voters as to their rights when voting in the May 21 Idaho primary election.
You can register to vote any time including the day of the election. You need to be 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, have a picture ID and have lived in Idaho for 30 days prior. When you register you can name a political party with which you chose to affiliate or remain unaffiliated.
Affiliation may affect your ability to vote in the primaries. If you are currently registered under a party label, it is too late to change for this election cycle.
But, if you are unaffiliated, you can change your status at any time, including election day, May 21. You can submit a party affiliation form to the county clerk or obtain a form from a poll worker at your precinct on Election Day.
