Second Harvest returns May 9 for food distribution

BONNERS FERRY — The third Second Harvest free food distribution of the season will be held Thursday, May 9, at the Boundary County Fairgrounds, sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church. 

Second Harvest and volunteers will distribute at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cars should enter the fairgrounds from the Fourth Street entrance. No sign up or registration is necessary to pick up food which usually includes staples, fresh produce, bakery, dairy and meat. 

Last month 258 families received 11,109 meals. Volunteers are always appreciated to help distribute food and should arrive at the west end of the fairgrounds by 10 a.m. the morning of the event.
