Bonners Ferry’s Woods to compete for Rawlings Tigers national baseball team
Full caption: Bonners Ferry High rising junior Jack Woods, who has been playing summer baseball for the Rawlings Tigers 16U travel baseball team in Tulsa, Okla., recently accepted an invitation to compete for the Rawlings Tigers 16U National Team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Tigers national team will compete at the Cincy Flames Tournament of Champions, set to be held July 31 through Aug. 4 at various different high school and college fields. Some notable locations include Y'all Stadium (home of the Florence Y’alls minor league team), the University of Cincinnati, Miami (OH) University, Xavier University, Wright State University, the University of Dayton, and Northern Kentucky University. Woods and the Tigers will battle teams from all across the country at the tournament. Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report, some of the USA’s largest scouting services, will be covering the event. Woods, a left-handed pitcher and first baseman, threw 32 innings for the Badgers this past season and posted an impressive 0.66 ERA to go along with eight strikeouts. More recently, he was named the Player of the Game during a Five Tool OKC Satellite Series contest; Woods went 1-for-1 with a triple, a run scored, and a stolen base in a 9-8 win over the BBA Titans of Tulsa.
