For over 100 years, the Boundary County Fair has been a summer event the entire community looks forward to. This year, the fair is scheduled for the week of Aug. 6-10.

The fair will kick off with opening ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6.

Fairgoers can expect a full four days of activity with lots of familiar events, but also some new additions to the schedule. Some of the events planned include pie and watermelon eating contests, coloring contests, a mullet competition, a mechanical bull, a monster cookie contest, stick horse races, a water balloon toss and a scavenger hunt.

One of the highlights of the fair, of course, are the animals. The 4-H/Future Farmers of America animals will be looking their best and ready to greet all their fair-going friends.

Displays and exhibits will be open each day for viewing.

For those who are all about fair food, be sure to check out the food booths. From snow cones to barbecue, there will be something for everyone. Vendor booths will also be open with more treats and goods for sale.

The fair schedule is posted on the website at boundarycountyfairgrounds.com.
