Benny Allen Hofer, 75

Benny was born in Magrath, Alberta, to Pete and Kay Hofer. They moved to Kalispell, Mont., in 1951 where they farmed. Benny lived in several places such as Albany, Ore., and Tri-Cities, Wash., where he met and married Connie before calling Bonners Ferry, his real home in 1988. 

During his time in Bonners Ferry, Benny worked for Foust, owned H&H Radiator shop and finished his career as a mechanic for the school district bus shop before retiring. 

Benny had many hobbies like drag racing, building hot rods, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and camping. A lifelong mechanic, he was always building and tinkering on anything mechanical. 

Benny is preceded in death by his son, Shane; father, Pete; mother, Kay; brother, Donny; and sister, Ruthy. Benny is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Jeremy and wife Shawndrea; grandsons, Jestin, Jeremy and wife Jessica; sisters, Dorthy and Carol; along with his all of his friends and family.

Benny was a dear friend, loving husband, father and grandfather with a passion for life and positive outlook that was contagious. His favorite spot to be was up Ball Creek catching brookies. Benny also had a bit of a wild side, which his friends know all too well.
