ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Mierke and Rawson, Badger soccer

Alexys Mierke, a junior, is named Athlete of the Week for BFHS girls soccer. The forward and mid-fielder scored two goals against Stillwater Christain on Aug. 24 for the season opener.  She scored the lone goal for the Badgers against Moscow on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Mierke has played for Badger soccer for three years. In the 2023-24 season she scored four goals. 

Nikita “Nik” Rawson, a senior, has been named Athlete of the Week for BFHS boys soccer. The co-captain played striker in the season opener against Stillwater Christian and sank four goals, earning a hat trick in the second half.  

Last season Rawson scored 17 goals and received Intermountain and Central Idaho All League honors.
