GoFundMe for local family after house fire
The community is coming together to help a young family whose home was damaged in an Aug. 22 fire. Fire officials have said the fire appears to have been caused by a malfunctioning microwave outlet.
The community is coming together to support Delwyn, Twyla Freed and their two young daughters through a GoFundMe campaign.
“We are praising God for his protection over each one of them,” Danielle Skrivseth said announcing the fundraiser. “However, although the fire itself stayed in the kitchen area, the whole house suffered so much heat and smoke damage that they have basically nothing but the clothes on their backs. Let’s bless them with some funds to replenish all that they lost.”
The $10,000 fundraiser has received over $11,000 in donations.
Donations of household items, clothes and other necessities can be dropped off inside the double white doors at Kootenai Valley Mennonite Church, 782 Moon Shadow Road, Bonners Ferry.
