Boundary Community Hospital has received a $1,420 grant from The Junior Garnier and Bud Ashford Military Veteran's Fund through the Idaho Community Foundation to support veteran patients in Boundary County.

BCH officials said they appreciate the opportunities such as the grant as it allows them to provide for community members. The grant will provide travel assistance to help veterans access medical treatments, according to CEO April Bennett.

Veterans needing transportation to medical appointments, either locally or elsewhere, can contact Boundary Community Clinics until the funds are exhausted.

"We are grateful to have this grant and to be able to use the funds in a way that helps Boundary County veterans get the care they need," Bennett said. "We feel blessed to give back to those who served and sacrificed for all of us."

As a Veterans Affairs urgent care facility and in-network provider of Veterans Affairs services, the clinic can offer minor medical treatments to veterans seeking care.

The Idaho Community Foundation's support will allow the hospital to directly assist veterans with transportation challenges, ensuring they can access necessary medical services.
