Polar Plunge for Special Olympics set for Dec. 14
Residents of Boundary County are “freezin’ for a reason” as they take the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics on Dec. 14.
By taking the plunge, participants are helping raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics Idaho athletes. Adult participants must raise a minimum of $100 in order to take the plunge; youth participants must raise a minimum of $75. Prizes will be awarded for the various levels of money raised. Raise the $100 minimum and get a Special Olympics Idaho towel at check-in. Raise over $250 and get a Polar Plunge T-shirt. Raise over $500 and get a Polar Plunge crewneck. There will be a prize for the top fundraiser as well.
For every dollar raised, 70% stays with the Bonners Ferry team. The remainder goes to the state to support Special Olympics Idaho programs.
The event is hosted by the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office and is being held at the Search and Rescue building, 6821 Riverside St., Bonners Ferry.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. Plunging starts at noon.
