Upcoming holiday events in Boundary County

From parties, to shopping, performances and craft fairs, Boundary County is abuzz with holiday cheer and festive activities for the month of December. 


Kids shop free event at Second Chance Thrift Store  

The Second Chance Thrift Store welcomes children ages 3-12 to “shop” for gifts for their loved ones at no charge.  

There is no income or need requirement, to qualify, children only need to check in at the counter before heading over to the shopping area.  

This event will be happening every day the store is open leading up to Christmas. Second Chance Thrift Store is located at 6651 Lincoln St., Bonners Ferry. 

Boundary County Night of Nativities  

The 11th annual multi-denominational Night of Nativities is set to take place on Dec. 6, from 4-8 p.m. and Dec. 7, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

View hundreds of nativities on display from around the world along with live musical performances.  

This event is free to the public. The church is located at 6568 Alderson Lane in Bonners Ferry.  

Hometown Holidays 

The festivities begin on Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Bonners Ferry. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is “Ladies on the Loose,” where ladies take over downtown with a fun filled day of shopping, snacks and drinks. Then from 2-4 p.m. there will be Santa’s workshop activities at local businesses, and then at 4 p.m. Santa will be at Georgia Mae Plaza for visits with local youth.  

South Boundary Fire Christmas festival and craft fair 

Lots of fun is happening in Naples on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Christmas festival and craft fair. The festival at the fire station is from 12-4 p.m., the craft fair is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Santa will be available from 12-2 p.m. to talk to kids of all ages and take pictures. at Naples Elementary School.  

Join the firefighters for craft making in Santa’s Workshop, Helping Hands bake sale, free games for the kids, fire truck rides, raffles, food and holiday treats, a cake walk and Christmas movies.  

Events are taking place at 20 Stagecoach Road, Naples.  

Santa Claus set to visit fire stations.  

Saturday, Dec. 14, after Santa is done visiting the children in Naples, he will hop on a firetruck that is decorated for the holiday season and head over to Paradise Valley Main Station, drive through the Restorium and then head on over to the North Bench Fire Station.  

Santa’s schedule is:

• 12-4 p.m. at South Boundary Fire Station. 20 Stagecoach Road, Naples 

• 4:15-4:45 p.m. at Paradise Valley Main Station. 2492 Paradise Valley Road, Bonners Ferry. 

• 5-5:30 at North Bench Fire Station. 64464 U.S. 2 E, Bonners Ferry.  

Ugly Sweater Bingo  

Get out those Christmas sweaters because Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. there will be Ugly Sweater Bingo at the Paradise Valley Grange Hall. There will be $1 cards, $1 concessions, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  

Bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Senior Center.                     

Ugly Sweater Christmas Party 

Liberty Lanes Bar & Grill is hosting an Ugly Sweater Party on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6-10 p.m. 

Yule Love: A Traditional Craft Fair 

Join local artisans and crafters at the Boundary County Fairgrounds on Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7. from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Moyie Springs Village Christmas Craft Sale 

Find gifts from local artists, crafters and bakers at the Christmas Craft Sale at the Moyie Springs City Hall. Friday, Dec. 6, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Christmas Through the Ages  

The Bonners Ferry Orchestra invites the community to attend their free concert, Christmas Through the Ages. This performance features Christmas music, a Messiah sing-along, and a youth choir.  

Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. Becker Auditorium, Bonners Ferry High School. 6485 Tamarack Lane, Bonners Ferry. 

Scouts Christmas craft and bake sale 

Scouts Troop 2506 is holding a craft and bake sale on Dec. 14 at 9 a.m. All items are made by the girls. There will be space for other people to have a table if they wish. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided. All are invited to bring letters to Santa Claus, and he will write back. Items will be raffled off. Donations are accepted.
