ISP investigating Upper Pack crash

| December 12, 2024 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Idaho State Police is investigating a Dec. 11 injury crash that occurred early in the morning on Upper Pack River Road.

ISP officials said the driver of a silver 2012 Kia Sorento was westbound at 2:54 a.m. when they lost control of the vehicle, crossed the eastbound lanes and left the road, striking a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old male of Sandpoint, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

At this time, their investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor in the incident. However, ISP officials said the crash remains under investigation.

The Bonner County Sheriff's Office and Bonner County EMS assisted ISP at the scene of the crash.
