100 Years Ago 

Announcement of a reduction in the prices of all Dodge Brothers passenger cars was received this week by the Crescent Garage, local Dodge Brothers dealer.  The reductions are especially sharp on the closed types.  The Type A sedan, for example, on which the list price was formerly $1,385, is now $1,245. The announcement from Dodge Brothers also carried the information that balloon tires are standard equipment on all passenger cars. 

Suit has started in the district court this week by A.C. Wood, A.D. Olson and A. Hoss against the Golden Sceptre Mining Company.  The complaint states that the plaintiffs entered into a contract with the officers of the Golden Sceptre Mining Company, on April 19, 1924, to drive 100 ft. of tunnel at $13 per foot. According to the complaint, the equipment was not in working order and the plaintiffs were therefore not able to carry out their contract, so losing their time and money. 

50 Years Ago 

The Boundary County Commissioners and the U.S. Forest Service got together this week to try and alleviate the potential unemployment problem of the county.  Walt Worley, Commissioner Chairman, questioned Forest Ranger Bob Graham about the possibility of "Green Slip Sales," or Forest Service timber sales of under $300." If there were more of these, this could be a boost locally to the economy," Worley said. 

The Class of 1975 at Bonners Ferry High School will host the Senior Ball from 9pm to 12:30 Dec. 28 at the high school cafeteria. 

Harry Dudley of Naples is the winner of the air hockey game which was offered this past week by the Bonners Ferry merchants for night shopping. 

15 Years Ago 

Kevin Kemp restored a rusted out 1960 Chevrolet C-10 Custom pickup into a truck that's getting national attention. The pickup, purchased by the Bonners Ferry man three years ago appears on the 2010 Snap-On calendar. 

Boulder Creek Academy integrates community service projects into the school's curriculum, which benefits the school and community.  Boulder Creek would like more service opportunities within the Bonners Ferry area. 

Eighth grader Robert Swanson recently improved the storage room at Boundary County Middle School band room for his Eagle Scout project.
