From the Archives - Feb. 1, 2024
Last week, From the Archives had a great slide, taken in October 1956 by Dale Sargent. It is labeled "Road to Dodge Peak."
This week's photo was used in the making of "History of Boundary County, Idaho Vol. I " on page 130. It was taken after a fine huckleberry trip circa 1941, on the road to Dodge Peak. Standing by Dodge Peak Lookout are (front row left to right) Clare Nelson, Joyce Nelson (later Jenkins), and Bobby Peterson; (back row left to right) Jesse and Anna Peterson (who the Peterson Hill is named after), Bert Peterson, Mabelle (Peterson) Nelson, Melvin Elvick, Harriet (Nelson) Peterson, Selma and Clarence Peterson.
The Boundary County Historical Society and Museum, 7229 Main St., Bonners Ferry, Idaho, sponsors this column.
