Don Johnson, 87

Don Johnson passed away Feb. 1, 2024, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls. He will be laid to rest outside Deary, Idaho, at Avon Cemetery at a later date. 

Don was born May 14, 1936, in Moscow, Idaho, to Martin and Laura Johnson. He is survived by Jody Johnson, wife of 64 years; daughters Tamara Morrell (Patrick Morrell) and Shelly Amos (Kelly Amos); granddaughters Mikalynn Amos, Kylee Dawn Amos and Jennifer Morrell; and sisters Joyce Johnson and Bonnie Ward.

He was a banker for 41 years starting at Family Finance in Coeur d’Alene. He then moved to Lewiston, Idaho, to work for Idaho First National Bank. He finished his banking career with Panhandle State Bank in Bonners Ferry. In addition to his banking career, he was the owner of Lewiston Datsun Peugeot. He was appreciated and respected by his coworkers and peers.

As an active member of the community, he contributed to various organizations and events. His love of cars led to being the president of the Ford International Retractable Club. His many interests included waterskiing and traveling. He truly enjoyed his life and friends to the fullest, where he never met a stranger. 

He is deeply missed by family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Silver Ridge Care Center for their loving care.
