Five Badgers win at Conrad Gardner Invite, BF girls take team title

BONNERS FERRY — Neveah Therrien (114, 24-3), Brandon Williams (126, 19-5) Aubree Graves (126, 21-10) Rylann Lewis (138, 10-12), Eva Willis (180, 11-4) were named the champions at the Conrad Garner Invitational last weekend.

Bonners Ferry won the girls team title with 112 points. The Badger boys took sixth with 98.5 points. 

Taking second place were Eli Leyden (160, 14-17), Ireland Grady (120, 11-14), Sofia Brown (132, 25-5), Savannah Rickter (165, 20-3) and Hallie Hartman (235, 10-10), Taylor Dodd (285) for Bonners Ferry. 

Placing in third for Bonners Ferry were Saber Blackmore (120, 26-10), Emma Roberts (145, 17-9), and Aubrey Wells (165, 13-6).

Bonners Ferry girls will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Lake City Girls Tournament in Rathdrum. 

Badger boys wrestling faced Post Falls in a dual at home on Wednesday. 

Districts for boys and girls are in Spirit Lake Thursday, Feb. 15.

St. Maries Jacks victorious over Bonners in dual

ST. MARIES 50, BF 27

ST. MARIES — Saber Blackmore (120), Brandon Williams (126), Eli Leyden (170) and Taylor Dodd (285) defeated their Lumberjacks opponents in a dual against St. Maries on Wednesday, Dec. 31 .

Badger wrestling fell to the St. Maries Jacks 50-27 in a dual. Early on the Badgers led 18-6, as Neveah Therrien (106) received a forfeit and Blackmore and Williams scored six points each for the Badgers. 

The Badger lead quickly dissipated as St. Maries won the next five matches. 

Alex Stolley (160) fell to Aiden Yearout (39-5), by fall at 1:56. Yearout is ranked fourth in 3A state at 160 points. 

Illikai Aiken (182) fought hard late into the second period, but at 3:50 minutes was overcome by Rustle Brusseau (16-10).
