Prioritizing safety at school bus stops
Boundary County School District has received reports of unfamiliar individuals near school bus stops and is asking students, parents and guardians to be alert when waiting for the bus.
“We all prioritize the safety of our students and want you to report any and all suspicious activity to your principal and parents and guardians,” Jan Bayer, BCSD Superintendent said in an announcement posted on their website.
She asks parents and guardians to remind their children of these things.
• Stay in well-lit areas at the bus stop.
• Avoid talking to strangers.
• Refuse to accept rides from strangers.
• Stand close to your peers because there is safety in numbers.
• Report all suspicious activity to a trusted adult immediately, and
• Call dispatch at 208-267-3151 to report the activity.
BCSD encourages guardians to visit with their children about safety measures at the bus stop.
