Athlete of the Week: Eli Leyden, boys wrestling

Eli Leyden, a senior, is named athlete of the week for Bonners Ferry boys wrestling. At 160 pounds, Leyden won the 3A Intermountain League district championship on Thursday, Feb. 15. 

Leyden went 2-0, beating out Timberlake’s Lincoln Wyndham and fellow Badger Alex Stolley. He will advance to the state championship. 

Leyden pinned his Post Falls JV opponent for Senior Night and took second place at the Conrad Gardner Invite. Earlier in the season he wrestled at 170 pounds.
