‘Through the Eyes of a Friend’ being held March 15
In “Through the Eyes of a Friend," Living Voices artistic director Racheal McClinton plays Anne Frank's best friend Sarah, a historically accurate composite character based on testimonies of those who knew Anne Frank, as well as other victims, resisters and survivors of the Holocaust and World War II. The free performance is at 6:30 tonight in the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center.

Area residents are invited to bear witness to the life of Anne Frank and all young people who grew up during the Holocaust at an upcoming Living Voices program.
“Through the Eyes of a Friend” will be performed Friday, March 15, at the Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash St. The program is sponsored by the Boundary County Human Rights Task Force. The program is free to attend.
The recommended audience for this show is fifth grade and older.
With a mission to bring life to history, Living Voices combines live performance with archival film to authentically represent diverse perspectives from the past that resonate today.
‘Through The Eyes of a Friend’ is a nationally acclaimed performance and is told through the eyes of Anne Frank’s “best friend” Sarah. The show focuses on the lives of young people and what they went through growing up during the Holocaust.
Sarah is a historically accurate composite character based on the testimonies of those who knew Anne Frank, as well as other victims, resisters, and survivors of the Holocaust and World War II.
Like Anne Frank, Sarah is a young Jewish girl in Amsterdam when Hitler comes to power in the 1930s, whose experiences under Nazi rule, in hiding and through the concentration camps parallel Anne’s story.
Living Voices travels throughout the country with the purpose of “bringing life to history” through performances. This is the second visit to the community this year, with the program presenting "The Right to Dream” for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
