Printed in the first BF Herald of the year 1924, "The members of the Hi-V-Hikers Klub gave a theatre party Thursday night at the Rex Theatre in honor of Miss Vina O'Callaghan and Mrs. Evaline O'Brian. After the show the club members repaired to the home of Miss Faye Kent where they enjoyed a delicious lunch."
The Hi-V-Hikers Klub was organized in May 1922 by a group of twelve Bonners Ferry ladies who enjoyed "hiking" and "the opportunity to spend a few hours in the woods, on the hillsides or by some mountain stream." The group hiked every Sunday during the spring and summer months. Nurse Agnes Carleton (later Chadwick) was the president of the club. The Hi-V Hikers went on hiking trips to Myrtle Creek, the Moyie River, and made a yearly climb up Mount Clifty.
This photo is of the Hi-V Hikers, with friends, on Mount Rainier, ca. 1923.
