Athlete of the Week: Markynn Pluid, girls basketball

Senior Markynn Pluid is named Athlete of the Week for Bonners Ferry girls basketball. The four year varsity player is one of the top rebounders for Badgers, nabbing up 72 rebounds in 13 games, 44 of those being defensive rebounds. She averages 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds a game.
When it comes to shooting, Pluid has scored 116 points this year (per MaxPreps.com data), shooting 54%. Pluid has notched 19 steals this season, averaging 1.5 steals per game.
On Dec. 28 at the West Valley Holiday Classic basketball tournament, Pliud notched a season high of 16 rebounds, 11 of which were offensive, against the Newport Grizzlies. She scored nine points that game.
