The Peter Moe sawmill and about 75,000 feet of lumber was destroyed by fire last Thursday.
Mr. Moe, who was in the city on business Tuesday stated he is not sure how the fire started. There was no insurance. Mr. Moe will probably buy new equipment and start operating again, although his plans have not definitely been decided upon. The Moe sawmill is located about a mile and a half east of Naples. Mr. Moe moved to the Naples district about two years ago.
Names of the six Boundary County soldiers and sailors who lost their lives in the World War are to be cast in bronze as part of a permanent record to be preserved in the war memorial armory and gymnasium to be erected on The University of Idaho campus. The names are: William K. Atkins, Bertie Atkins, Henry J. Nelson, Paul Fred Peter, Louis F. Stone, Charles L. Zimmerman.
A shipment of 24 cans of rainbow trout was released in the Moyie River at the mouth of Meadow Creek Monday by Deputy State Game Warden W.H. Heathershaw. There were about 1,600 fish in each can.

The paper drive sponsored by the Boundary County Farm Bureau has been postponed because of haying season and the Kootenai River Days.
At a meeting before the County Commissioners this week, the Forest Service warned area residents that they will be subject to a $500 fine if they are caught littering at trash pickup sites.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Burkholder, Rockey and Teresa, traveled to Mountain Home for two weeks to visit Captain James Burkholder, his wife Karen, and their son Jimmy.

Boundary County experienced a 14.9 percent decline in criminal offenses from 2007 to 2008, according to Idaho State Police's annual crime report.
The All Aboard Ice Cream Social will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the Railroad History Courtyard between Bonners Ferry Visitor Center and Boundary County Museum.
A Sandpoint movie crew scurried around the Georgia Mae Plaza in downtown Bonners Ferry during the filming of a movie short on Saturday and Sunday. "Started By A Mouse," written by Grant Smith of Coeur d'Alene is about a young girl, Izzy, who takes off with her mother's video camera and makes her own film.
