BCSD joins online school collaboration
BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County School District has opened an online school collaboration with Overture Learning in order to provide additional education options for area families.
“We want all children in our community to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society,” BCSD Superintendent Jan Bayer said in announcing the new program. “As we all learn and grow, we realize there are several ways to achieve our mission. In collaboration with families, we believe it is important to provide options. We love all our schools, yet we learned a valuable lesson during and after COVID, that we needed to provide an additional option for parents and guardians in Boundary County to support their children academically.”
The school will serve children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Three teachers working collaboratively with Overture to collaborate with parents/guardians: Melissa Bateman, Matt Dinning, and Robin Merrifield.
Bayer said there are 100 student slots available for the 2024-2025 school year and a virtual informational meeting will be on Thursday, July 25 at 10 a.m. The link for the virtual meeting is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/2089087512.
