The County has adopted a new, stand-alone flood damage prevention ordinance that reflects the requirements of the national flood insurance program and the standards of the State of Idaho Disaster Preparedness Act. The flood overlay section of code is no longer needed and is in conflict with the new code. Notice of Availability of Draft Environmental Assessment and Opportunity to Comment for Proposed Improvements at the Boundary County Airport in Boundary County, Idaho Boundary County, Idaho, the Boundary County Airport and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are proposing to construct airport improvements to extend and rehabilitate Runway 2-20 and the parallel taxiway; bring the Runway Protection Zones under Airport control; remove or relocate existing obstructions to aviation; and install new perimeter fence. The purpose of the project is to improve infrastructure to serve 100% of the small aircraft fleet that currently use the Airport by meeting FAA recommendations for runway length and to increase operational safety by meeting FAA design standards. FAA and the County have prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), applicable environmental regulations and FAA guidance including Order 1050.1F Environmental Impacts: Policies and Procedures and FAA Order 5050.4B NEPA Implementing Instructions for Airport Actions.
