TRAVEL SOFTBALL: The North 16U takes second at Summer River Bash
POST FALLS — Bonners Ferry High rising senior Jaydin Falck was 7-for-13 with three extra-base hits and nine RBIs, Thompson Falls High rising senior Sarah Koskela threw a four-inning no-hitter, and The North 16U travel softball team took second place in the silver bracket at the Summer River Bash tournament held July 19-21 at Post Falls High.
The North 16U’s head coach Logan Conro said their finish at the tournament was the best in program history, and the girls battled through three games in 100-plus degree heat in order to achieve the feat.
The North started off the tourney on Friday with a 6-2 win over the Villains 16U of Spokane Valley. Falck led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2. On the mound, Koskela threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and two walks while striking out nine batters in order to get the win.
