In every school district, there are individuals who inspire, guide, and shape our students. The wisdom and grace demonstrated by our retirees will be missed.

Our retirees are often our unsung heroes, who have helped shape the minds and hearts of generations. As our retirees bid adieu to the district they've called home for decades, we pause to celebrate and honor the retiring teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers and district office staff whose dedication has impacted countless lives.

Boundary County School District will retire 158 years of service this school year and would like to take a moment to recognize each individual and the years that they have served our students, schools and community.

Bonners Ferry High school will retire five individuals at the end of the school year:

• Kathy Rounsville has served our Life Skills Program for 29 years;

• Judy Wages will retire after 27 years teaching science.

• Theron Wages, with his architectural wisdom, has taught for six years.

• Nancy Carlson, our mathematically inclined paraprofessional, dedicated 24 years to the district

• Steven Ergenbright, Life Skills paraprofessional, is retiring with five years of service.

Boundary County Middle School will be saying goodbye to Rita Vannoy. For 13 years, Rita has served the resource and behavior room.

At Valley View Elementary, Julie Vinton, preschool program teacher for 12 years, will pursue retirement.

The transportation department will retire one individual, Kit Ague, who drove a school bus for 11 years.

The district office will also be saying goodbye to two individuals:

Marianne Hale, who served our district in multiple roles for 25 years, is enjoying the Florida sun; and Julie Trombley, administrative assistant for six years.

As these esteemed educators, para- professionals, bus drivers and district office staff embark on their well-deserved retirements, their departure leaves a void that cannot be easily filled.

Their dedication to the district will not go unnoticed. They have all impacted more lives than they realize and we truly appreciate all that they have done. Yet, their legacy endures in the countless lives they've touched, the lessons they've imparted, and the values they've instilled.

Thank you for serving the Boundary County School District and our community.
