BONNERS FERRY — Local churches and businesses have joined together to unify the community and its churches by providing the opportunity to fellowship at the In His Image Family Festival.

On Saturday, June 22, the first In His Image Family Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Boundary County Fairgrounds pavilion.

“The idea came about at a men’s breakfast prayer meeting,” Zach Bushnell, event co-organizer, said.

There was a sense of need for unity in the churches and in the community and this event is a way to fill that need, Bushnell said.

“The goal of the event is to bring unity to the community and local churches by bringing them together to fellowship and share the love of Christ.”

The event will include three different speakers with sermons focusing on “being in the image of God.” There will also be different worship teams performing before each speaker session. Churches and congregations in Boundary County have been invited to participate.

At this time organizers are not sure how many people will be attending, but are preparing for several hundred or more people. They hope to make the festival an annual event.

This family friendly event will include a free lunch around noon, children’s games and bounce house. Seating will be available, but guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair as well.

Depending on weather, the event will take place outside from the pavilion.
