PARADISE VALLEY — The North Idaho Classical Academy has received over $3.5 million from two grants.

NICA is a K-6 charter school at the former Boulder Creek Academy property. NICA is part of the American Classical Schools of Idaho and will use the Hillsdale College curriculum. They are expected to open in the fall of 2025.

NICA recently received a J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation grant for $1,544,000.

NICA officials announced in a newsletter that the grant will supplement the school’s general fund over the first five years of operation, ensuring they can effectively serve our students until it reaches  maximum capacity.

Additionally, NICA received the Charter School Program Grant, receiving $2 million. NICA has earmarked these funds for essential supplies, including desks, chairs, buses, technology, and more.

Dr. Jacob Francom, principal at NICA, told the Herald that NICA is still working on federal and state E-rate grants that would help fund fiber to the school. NICA is also applying to other grants.
