Saturday night shooting near Porthill

PORTHILL — Boundary County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting in the Porthill area near Chisholm Road on Saturday, March 9, at 7 p.m. 

Officers from Bonners Ferry Police and United States Forest Service also responded to assist the deputies, Boundary County Public Information Officer Andre O’Neel said. 

BCSO determined the confrontation had occurred regarding the use of an easement road accessing private property, he said. 

“Multiple people were armed with firearms during the confrontation. Shots were fired and two people were injured, one with serious injuries. They were transported to the hospital by ambulance,” he said. 

At this time there have been no arrests. An investigation is ongoing.
