2024 DYW participants 1-3 unveiled

The first three participants of this years Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Women program have been announced.

June Marshall– Participant #1

Bonners Ferry BETA is happy to sponsor June Marshall. June is the daughter of Sean and Caroline Marshall.  She has two brothers, Jack and Bryce, and three sisters, Gwen, Anya, and Lucy. After graduation, June plans to attend college and study to become a lawyer or a fashion designer. Extracurriculars she participates in include leadership and theater. 

A modern personality that interests June is Jim Carrey, while historical figures that interest her are Marilyn Monroe and Anne of Cleves. June will be showcasing her vocal talents for the talent portion of the program.

When asked what makes June most proud of her generation, she states, “I am most proud of our open mindedness and awareness of the world around us.”

Amanda Koehn – Participant #2

Moyie Shrine Club is proud to sponsor Amanda Koehn.  Amanda is the daughter of Michael and Trudy Koehn and has three brothers, Kyle, Trevor, and Eric, and two sisters, Stephanie and Samantha. Amanda aspires to attend college to work in the medical field. One historical figure that interests Amanda is Theodore Roosevelt. She is also intrigued by modern personalities Johnny Depp and Kiera Cass.

A few of the extracurricular endeavors that keep Amanda active include playing softball, snowboarding, and spending time with friends. For her talent, Amanda will be entertaining the crowd with poetry recitation.

When asked what makes Amanda least proud of her generation, she states, “I am least proud that many in my generation are dependent on others. Many people rely heavily on their parents or friends even at an age when living on your own is highly encouraged.” 


Ellie Falck – Participant #3

Bonners Ferry Rotary Club is happy to sponsor Ellie Falck. Ellie is the daughter of Levi and Sarrah Falck. She has four brothers, Mitchell, Nick, Brady, and Grayson, and two sisters, Jazmyne and Addie.  Ellie plans to attend University of Idaho or Boise State University where she plans to pursue a career in the medical field.  She participates in volleyball and track and enjoys dancing, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Ellie is intrigued by modern personalities Adam Sandler and David Spade. For her talent, Ellie will be performing a dance routine. 

When asked what makes her most proud of her generation, she states, “We are the first generation to not know a world without the internet. This makes us the most technologically advanced.”
