This photograph was recently donated to the museum by the Harold Stephenson estate. It was taken by Edgar Stephenson, The Valley Studio.
Construction of the “new” high school on the South Hill began in 1969. By December 19 of that year construction was “nearing completion,” with plans of moving into the building on February 1, 1970. However, the January 16, 1970, Bonners Ferry Herald stated that the move had been postponed until fall. A March 5, 1970, article in the Bonners Ferry Herald said the goal was to have “completed the gym floor for the American Legion Basketball Tournament.” The Class of 1970 graduated in the “new” high school.
The “new” high school is now the middle school.
