BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County Middle School seventh-grade boys basketball team is undefeated at 6-0 with only two more games until the district competition.

Young ballers have put in the effort on the court with Brydin Weymer scoring 18 points and leading the Badges to victory over Priest River 55-36, on Feb. 20, giving the team a 3-0 record.

The Badgers then defeated St Marie's by double digits, 44-13 with Dallin Baisden scoring 18 points. The seventh graders advanced to a 5-0 record after defeating Kellogg and Timberlake.

The first matchup against Timberlake was a close game for the Badgers at 39-25, on March 5.

The following day, the Badgers faced Timberlake again, and despite being down three players, won 35-12.

“Every player really stepped up and contributed to the win,” said Dustin Woelfe, a parent of one of the players. “However, the biggest credit goes to Coach Greg Kissee for his great understanding of the game, player strengths, and aggressive play calling. He certainly inspires the boys to dig deep and push through tough games.”

“Half our seventh grade team has played AAU basketball for Kisse the past three years and they continue to improve every game and every season,” he said.

On Saturday, the Badger defeated Timberlake again, 52-28. They led 11-8, then went on a 13-point run and nabbed 13 steals.

The Badgers have two more games until districts.
