City to remove trees Wednesday
BONNERS FERRY — The city will be removing four trees on Main Street across from Georgia Mae Plaza on Wednesday, March 27.
Mike Klaus, city engineer and administrator, said the trees are damaged and in poor condition, prompting the need to remove them. Much of the damage is due to the loss of significant branches.
“The city is currently considering replacement options for the trees that would look nice and not block the view of pedestrians and motorists,” he said.
Klaus said the city has yet to choose what trees or other landscaping will replace the trees.
The tree removal will occur in the morning to minimize disruption to vehicle traffic downtown.
If you have any suggestions for what type of landscaping should replace these trees, please email the city at mklaus@bonnersferry.id.gov
