BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry High School has announced the top scholars for the Class of 2024 and eight juniors have been recognized for being in the 10% of students in the state for the Class of 2025.

“These students finished with the highest grade point averages in their class and have worked exceptionally hard throughout their high school career, often taking dual-credit college classes, advanced placement courses, honors classes, and our highest levels of career technical education,” said Emily Winebark BFHS school counselor.

The following students will graduate this June and don the white robes reserved for top scholars, Emma Tompkins, Gunnar Miller, Chandler Swanson, Damon Madson, Asha Abubakari, Ana Chase, Braylyn Bayer, Lindsey Onstott, Paige Bennett and Abigail Hodges.

Eight members of the junior class have also been recognized as Idaho Top Scholars.

Every year, junior students with the highest GPA around the state are honored and recognized for their academic accomplishments. BFHS juniors receiving this honor include Amanda Koehn, Sydney Hinthorn, Sydney Beckle, Morgan Tye, Emma Messick, Helene Rae, Jesse Fess and Eli Blackmore

“These eight juniors have done an exceptional job dedicating themselves to not only their school work but to multiple extracurriculars,” Winebark said. “They have earned themselves a spot in the top 10% of students in the state.”
