DISTRICT 1 ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAMES: Two Badger compete in Mullan All-Star game

• BOYS

MULLAN — Clark Fork's Ethan Howard scored an area-high 12 points for the West in a 78-67 loss to the East All-Stars in the 37th District 1 All-Star boys basketball game at the Mullan Pavilion on Friday.

Clark Fork's Cole and Chase Sanroman also represented the Wampus Cats. Cole scored seven points, Chase three, in the loss. Sandpoint's Parker Childs represented the Bulldogs and tallied two points.

The game, which matches the top area seniors, was postponed in 2023 due to hazardous road conditions, the second time in four years (2020, COVID-19) that the game had been called off.

Lakeside’s Liam Hendrickx led the West with 20 points.

MULLAN — Bonners Ferry's Asha Abubakari scored eight points for the West in a 64-51 loss to the East All-Stars in the All-Star girls basketball game.

Brooklynn Brennan of Post Falls led the West with 19 points, with Priest River's Helena White adding seven points.

Sandpoint's Lily Richardson was the only other area athlete to score, tallying five points. In addition to White, Priest River's Pavin Coleman, Sam Pound, and Marley Burgess-Duquette all competed for the Spartans.

Markynn Pluid also represented Bonners Ferry on the court.
