Highland Flats BNSF crossing closed on Tuesday

NAPLES— Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation will be closing the railroad crossing at Highland Flats Rd. starting Tuesday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for track repairs.

“BNSF will be doing track repair on their crossing at Old Hwy 95 and Highland Flats this coming Monday, April 2,” Samuel Williams, Project Manager at Interstate Concrete & Asphalt said. “The track will be lifted and ICA will be cutting out the pavement on both sides and placing gravel.”

The week of April 8, work will continue to pave back for a smoother crossing. The crossing will not be completely closed as the project will be done half at a time. 

Detour route signage will be in place. Highland Flats Rd via McArthur Lake Rd to access Hwy 95. Deep Creek Loop will remain open. Crossing at west edge begins closure of Highland Flats Rd. 

Reader boards with pre-notification will be placed Friday, March 29 on Deep Creek Loop and Highland Flats Rd. with closure information.

Additional changes may be forthcoming as the project moves forward.
