100 Years Ago
Miss Irene Nichelson, only daughter of Tom Nichelson, a prominent businessman of the city, was married this morning at the Episcopal Church in Coeur d'Alene to Frank Lenhart, assistant of the used car department of the Wells Chevrolet Co. of Spokane.
The city council has passed an ordinance providing for the issuance of deficiency warrants in the sum of $1,500, which will be used in purchasing steel water main pipes to replace wooden pipes in east part of town where the water pressure is so great that the wooden pipes are continually leaking and are a menace to the services. The wooden pipes which are to be removed will be used in parts of the city where the water pressure is lowest.
Martin Fry, who is making arrangements for the Boundary County Pioneer re-union to be held at the K.P. Hall on Tuesday evening, April 1, states that Major W.S. Walker and superintendent of School, T.S. Kerr, will give the principal addresses of the evening's program.

The new Community Orchestra invites the public to share in an evening musical performance Friday, May 3, at 8 pm in the new high school cafeteria. The orchestra is unique in that its members contribute musical abilities ranging from those of two third grade students, having six months of lessons, to a former music teacher in the school system.
Bonners Ferry athletes did "exceptionally well for a small school" in the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Program competition held last Friday at BFHS, according to Marine Recruiters.
Certain to be one of the best clothing sales of the spring — and maybe one of the best here this year — is slated this weekend, through next Tuesday, at Anthony's, as they use the occasion to introduce their new manager here, Rod Shores.

A Bonners Ferry woman has been chosen as Employee of the Year for the U.S. Border Patrol's Spokane sector. Rhonda Vogl, a mission support specialist for the Bonners Ferry Border Patrol Station, has been with the agency since July 2006.
In their first-ever state competition, Bonners Ferry High School cheerleaders finished in second.
The sixth-grade AAU team from Bonners Ferry went undefeated in five games during the North Spokane Classic tournament last weekend. Team members are Emma Pluid, Cheyenne Oyharsabal, Kendra Chapman, Abby Skeen, Jasmine Hill, Kendra Merritt, Emily Warden and Savannah Woods. Erik Skeen is the coach and Kassy Skeen is the manager.
