4A STATE CROSS COUNTRY: Beckle takes home top 20 medal
EAGLE — Bonners Ferry High senior Sydney Beckle finished 17th out of 82 runners with a 5,000-meter time of 20 minutes and 28 seconds, her second best time of her career, as the Lady Badgers placed seventh out of 11 teams at the 4A state championship meet held this past Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.
Freshman Kylie Calderone was the second runner from Bonners Ferry to cross the line, placing 26th with a time of 21 minutes and five seconds; she was the race's fifth overall freshman. Junior Matisyn Stiern was 35th (21:43), sophomore Gia Roemer 59th (23:24), and freshman Cheyenne Schutte 63rd (23:32) to round out the Lady Badgers' top five scorers.
