CROSS COUNTRY HONORS: Beckle named to District 1 Dirty Dozen
Those named to the "Dirty Dozen" list are regarded as District 1's best performing runners across all six of Idaho's classifications.
ALL-DISTRICT: Sydney Beckle
A senior, Sydney was the only Bonners Ferry runner and one of five 4A runners named to the all-district team. Beckle had numerous top finishes this season, winning the Bonners Ferry Invite with a 5,000-meter time of 21 minutes and 26 seconds, the Ivan Benson Invite (22:16) and placing second at the Ben Castro Invitational (20:29). She ran a new personal best time of 20 minutes and 18 seconds, a 15-second drop from her previous best time set in 2022, at the Inland Empire Championship hosted by Lewis-Clark State College — good enough for 10th out of 69 runners. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Beckle finished off the season with a third-place finish at the 4A Intermountain League District Championship (20:41) and then a 17th place finish at the 4A State Championship (20:28), 18 spots higher than her 35th place finish in 2023. She qualified for the state championship in all four of the years she participated on the Bonners Ferry varsity cross country team.
