BONNERS FERRY — Dr. Lisa Galasso has joined Boundary Community Hospital’s orthopedic team. The board-eligible orthopedic surgeon has specialized expertise in shoulder and elbow care.

Galasso will see patients every Thursday, alongside Dr. Mike DiBenedetto, strengthening the hospital's commitment to providing exceptional orthopedic care to the community.

Galasso earned her medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, Michigan.  She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she received advanced training at a Level 1 trauma center renowned for its excellence in orthopedic care.

Following residency, she pursued a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Oregon Shoulder Institute in Medford, Oregon, further honing her skills in complex shoulder and elbow procedures.

Her expertise includes primary and revision shoulder replacement, rotator cuff repair and reconstruction, treatment of shoulder dislocations and instability, and managing fractures of the clavicle, shoulder, humerus, and elbow.

Galasso's passion lies in working closely with her patients to help them achieve their goals, and she has a special interest in shoulder research aimed at improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes.

In addition to her clinical practice, Galasso is affiliated with Bonner General Health in Sandpoint and Pend Oreille Surgery Center in Ponderay. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons.

Galasso and her husband, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, relocated to North Idaho in 2024. Outside of medicine, she enjoys trail running, hiking, cycling, weightlifting, and spending time outdoors with her family and their dog.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Galasso join our orthopedic clinic," Boundary Community Hospital officials said in a press release. "Her advanced training and dedication to patient care will greatly enhance the services we offer, particularly in shoulder and elbow specialties. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on the health and well-being of our community."

Galasso is now accepting new patients for consultations and treatments on Thursdays at Boundary Community Hospital. To schedule an appointment, call the hospital clinic at 208-267-3668.Shape
