Miss Agnes Carlton, County Nurse, spent yesterday at Eastport in the interests of the Red Cross roll call and also making arrangements to organize nursing classes in that community.
There are more than 4,000 acres of fine farmland in this district, now practically all under cultivation. Six new drainage districts are being farmed in Boundary County with an aggregate area of 15,000 acres. Approximately 16,000 in the Kootenai Valley will still be left open to reclamation when the new projects are finished.
While the drive to raise $250,000 for Idaho's war memorial throughout the State Tuesday, the campaign to secure Boundary County's quota of $3,000 will not be underway until tomorrow, according to Dr. Fry, chairman of the executive committee. The delay was caused by failure of the receipt books and other literature to arrive on time. All money will go toward the erection of the Idaho War Memorial building on the campus of the University of Idaho at Moscow.

For Bonners Ferry football fans last Saturday it was first half "sad faces" turning into jubilant "super happy faces" in the third quarter as Bonners Ferry's fightin' Badgers came back for a narrow 21-20 two district championship over the Lapwai Wildcats to win the "North Idaho Championship," now two years old.
The refuge waterfowl population is approximately 31,000 and unless a sudden freeze or heavy snow comes, it will probably increase. This is the highest population we have had for two years.
Two Boundary County residents suggested to the County Commissioners this week that the medical quality report of the Community Hospital cited by Dr. Jeffrey Arlen in his criticism of the hospital before the commissioners earlier to be made public.

A recent study has ranked Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry as the least costly rural health care facility of its kind in the nation.
Jenny Liermann of Naples on Tuesday became the first woman to score a 700 scratch series at A.J.'s Lanes.
Mt. Hall Elementary School's Janet Gause has been named Boundary County Education Association's Teacher of the Year. Boundary County Middle School Custodian Ron Large is this year's Classified Employee of the Year.
