COLLEGE NOTEBOOK: Rickter records first collegiate pin

Savannah Rickter, Dickinson State Wrestling

Savannah, a 2024 Bonners Ferry High graduate, recently recorded her first collegiate win at the Waldorf University Open which was held Nov. 8-9 in Forest City, Iowa. Due to some absences, Savannah wrestled at 180 pounds instead of 165 and pinned Olivia Burciaga of Waldorf to help the Lady Blue Hawks secure a 32-10 dual win. Dickinson State will head to the Beaver Bash Duals in Minot, N.D. this upcoming Saturday.

Markynn Pluid, Snow College Basketball

A 2024 Bonners Ferry High graduate, Markynn recorded two points (2-2 FT), a steal and a rebound across eight minutes in a 93-75 win over Central Wyoming College on the Nov. 13 and three points (1-3 FG, 1-1 FT) and two rebounds across six minutes in a 71-26 win over Central Wyoming College on Nov. 15. With the wins, Snow College, which is 7-0, won the Western Wyoming Classic and Eagle Classic tournaments. The Lady Badgers return to action this Thursday for the New Mexico Junior College Tournament set to be held at the Caster Activity Center in Hobbs, N.M.

Jerzie Bair, College of Idaho Volleyball

A 2019 Bonners Ferry High graduate, Jerzie contributed in all three of the Lady Yotes' Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament games. She recorded three block assists in a 3-0 play-in win over Walla Walla on Nov. 12, and on Nov. 15, three kills, two digs and two block assists in a 3-0 quarterfinal win over Bushnell, and three kills and two block assists in a 3-0 semifinal loss to Eastern Oregon. The College of Idaho, which is 20-13, received an at-large bid to the 2024 NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship and will host Benedictine Mesa of Arizona on Saturday.
