County officials, employees friendly, helpful
This week, I needed the services of several county offices that are no longer located in the Boundary County Courthouse.
In the past, I had found the services available in each office and the location of each pretty confusing. The physical location and arrangement of offices makes more sense to me and actually is easier to find.
The Idaho State Department of Motor Vehicles office for Boundary County is next door to the Assessor’s new office in the low building behind the courthouse.
Driver’s licensing moved from the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office quite a while ago and is in the former National Guard Armory building on the highway on the South Hill. For newcomers to our county, that’s on the north side of Highway 95 across from the Boundary County Middle School.
For anyone looking for services from the Assessor’s Office, which includes the Appraisers and Mappers, those offices also now are in the low building behind the courthouse. That’s where the county extension office was for years.
The Boundary County Extension Office of the University of Idaho is in the building North Idaho College used to use for classes. For newcomers, that building is on the south hill located between Far North and Mountain Springs Church.
I always enjoy visiting any and all of the offices, no matter where they’re located because the staff members I’ve met in each one are friendly, competent and easy to deal with.
