The funeral of James Eaton, who died at his home here Sunday evening at 6:30 o'clock, after an illness of several years with asthma, was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Chapel of Peterson Crouch funeral directors. Eaton moved to Bonners Ferry in the Spring of 1899, buying a half section of land in the Paradise Valley district, which he farmed until ill health forced him to seek another occupation and he sold his farm to Mr. Wedeven.

Robert Hartling began the construction of a logging camp near Naples Monday where he has taken a contract for logging for the A.C. White Lumber Company. Mr. Hartling figures it will take a year or more to complete the contract.

Mrs. W.S. Fitterer, well well-known Bonners Ferry woman, shot and killed a fine 175-pound whitetail doe near Herman Lake early Monday morning.  So far as is known, Mrs. Fitterer is the first woman to kill a deer in Boundary County during the present open season.

It has been learned this week that Bonners Ferry, for the second year in a row, has been accepted to host the Inland Empire Novice Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament sometime during January.

The Kootenai Indian Nation is hoping to have a Buffalo Roast for itself and the people of Bonners Ferry on Nov. 30, which will be the closing day of the Great Rendezvous of the Creative Arts. The Great Rendezvous of the Creative Arts is the name of the art show which officially opened this week.

Nancy Neumeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Neumeyer, is Bonners Ferry's new Junior Miss.

It always seemed to junior Nate Schwartz that the hallways at BFHS lacked color.  Schwartz and his classmates, in Josh Knaggs' advanced art class, are changing that.  The juniors and seniors are painting murals at wing entrances for what's known as Project Paint the School.  Each mural is curriculum-based.

Boundary County Middle School Band's eighth-graders on Wednesday joined more than 300 students from throughout the region to perform with North Idaho College Wind Symphony in the annual Gathering of the Bands.

Bonners Ferry High School students Keith Cancel, Jacob Kaessinger and Jacob Merz will travel to Boston next month to participate in a Robotics  Competition designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA.
