F.L. Glad and A.C. Lundwall have leased the corner storeroom of the Myers and Strom brick building, Main Street, in which they plan to conduct a cash-and-carry meat and grocery business.
J.E. Pierce , whose home is in Spokane, suffered a painful accident Monday at the Joslin and McAllister rock crusher located on the Tom McKenzie ranch in Curley Creek district, where rock is being crushed for the state highway, when he was struck by a flying piece of iron which tore a large hole in his right forearm.
Thieves broke into the homes of L.N. Baker and E. Des Voigne last Thursday and on Friday night the home of Byron N. Hawks was entered. In each instance, the thieves took clothing and jewelry.

The Kootenai Nation is about to take its battle to Washington, D.C. Tribal Representative Douglas Wheaton announced this week, that he, Tribal Chairwoman Amy Trice, secretary Eileen Lowley and Tribal Attorney Robert Dellwo probably will fly to Washington on Sunday to take their problem to the Department of the Interior or higher.
Motorists used to come down Paradise Valley hill so fast that the city, in response to complaints, decided to do something about it by installing two bumps with warning signs. The only problem was that the bumps brought in more complaints than the speeding motorists, so the city had to remove them again.
The Boundary County Commissioners this week approved a resolution calling for a $780,000 bond issue election to make additions to the hospital, nursing home and Restorium complex.

Pat Gardiner never expected that someone would steal his airplane- at least not in Bonners Ferry. Police believe that someone stole his Cessna 182 Turbo from a hangar at Boundary County Airport and flew it away.
C.J. Smith's broken leg may have ended his football season, but it didn't stop the Naples 14-year-old from winning both of his divisions during Bonners Ferry Arena Cross on Saturday.
A Boundary County Sheriff's detective since 1999, Mike Naumann said farewell to duty and retired last week.
The Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun program will offer a series of Fun Fridays starting on Oct. 9 with "Let's Get Wild at the Refuge."
