PREP FOOTBALL: Bonners Ferry battles with Moscow

MOSCOW — In their first meeting as 4A Intermountain League foes, Bonners Ferry High senior quarterback Brody Rice was 5-for-10 passing and piled up 58 total yards, a passing touchdown, and tied for a team-high seven tackles on defense as the visiting Badgers kept it close with the host Bears through four quarters on Friday.
Junior Keenan Maas once again received the majority of the carries for Bonners Ferry, rushing to 113 yards on 27 carries as he scored another touchdown, his fifth in the last three games. Junior Conrad Hiatt had 46 rushing yards on nine carries and paced the Badgers in receiving with three catches for 27 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, senior Thomas Hoggan and sophomore Jake Solt also had seven tackles each while Hiatt added five of his own. Sophomore Alex Stolley and senior Logan Thorne had three each. Hiatt, Maas, and Hoggan had three quarterback hurries while Rice, senior Alex Taylor, and junior Giovanni Faraoni all recorded pass breakups.
Bonners Ferry (3-4, 0-1), which trailed by just a touchdown heading into the fourth quarter, travels to Orofino on Saturday.
