OROFINO — Sophomore Alex Stolley returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, recorded an interception, and hauled in a 30-yard receiving touchdown, his first receiving touchdown of the year, as the visiting Badgers scored 35 points in the first half in a nonleague win over the host Maniacs on Saturday.

Stolley's 30-yard receiving touchdown came on a pass from senior Brody Rice, who completed 5 of his 8 passes for 98 yards and two scores. Rice's other touchdown pass was to junior Sulay Abubakari, who paced the Badgers with three receptions for a team-high 57 yards.

The Badgers put up 225 rushing yards on the night. Junior Taysean Spotted Horse led the way with a team-high 74 yards on eight carries. Junior Conrad Hiatt, who also had two forced fumbles and two sacks on defense, posted 56 yards on just three carries. Senior Nicholas Harper and junior Keenan Maas both had 33 yards on three carries each; Maas also registered a rushing touchdown. Senior Logan Thorne punched in the Badgers' second rushing touchdown of the evening.

In addition to Stolley's interception, Bonners Ferry's defense recovered three fumbles in total. Senior Bradlee Bennett, senior Shiloh Barry, and sophomore Maddox Mertzweiller were all in the right position at the right time to recover the fumbles — Mertzweiller, who tied with Harper for a team-high six tackles, returned his 85 yards for a scoop n' score touchdown. Harper, Thorne, and sophomore Jake Solt, all contributed one tackle for a loss each.

Bonners Ferry (4-4) hosts Timberlake for senior night on Friday.
